SINGAPORE : A massive police operation is underway in Singapore after the leader of the Jemaah Islamiyah network here, Mas Selamat Kastari, escaped from detention at 4.05pm on Wednesday.

A statement from the Home Affairs Ministry says Mas Selamat walks with a limp and is presently at large.

He is not known to be armed and is one of Singapore's most wanted men.

Extensive police resources have been deployed to track him down after he escaped from the Whitley Road Detention Centre.

Anyone with information about him can contact the police at 999.

Mas Selamat was arrested by the Indonesian police on Bintan island in January 2006.

He was picked up then for using a fake identity card.

Based on investigations then, Indonesia's elite anti-terror police discovered he was the leader of the Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah network, a terrorist organisation.

They then deported the man to Singapore in 2006.

The 45-year-old father of four was also said to be involved in JI's plans to mount attacks against foreign and local establishments here.

These included the US Embassy and American Club, the Defence Ministry headquarters at Bukit Gombak and the Education Ministry building at North Buona Vista Drive.

Mas Selamat fled Singapore in December 2001 following an Internal Security Department operation against the terrorist organisation.

The militant leader had been on the run after Singapore authorities discovered plans to crash seven truck filled with bombs at various locations around the island.

Investigations also revealed that he was the mastermind behind a plan to hijack an airplane and crash it into Changi airport.

When he was last arrested in Indonesia, officers found literature on bomb making on the man.

Mas Selamat's deportation to Singapore two years ago was seen as a significant development in the close network of cooperation amongst intelligence officers in the region to share information on terror suspects and to defeat the terror threat.

The islandwide manhunt has fanned out to areas in Beauty World in Upper Bukit Timah and Goldhill Avenue near Barker Road.

Officers are also knocking on homes asking residents if they have seen the escapee.

Police have also formed a formidable blockade around Malcolm Park, near the Singapore Chinese Girls' School. - CNA/ch

LingLing and Tao ShuLots of smiles n laughters as ling ling and her brother, taoshu, made their escapade visiting bookstores around our sunny island last weekend.

Many kids had a pleasant surprise when they visited major bookstores around heartlands and in town last weekend. Ling ling and Tao shu made special appearances this festive season to promote the release of their new dvd production. Adorned in traditional chinese costumes to blend in the festive mood, they distributed balloons and offered gentle hugs. The children also took part in the lucky draw which promised instant goodies such as calendars and free polaroid picture of themselves and the gentle giants. Well, i could not resist taking pictures with them too.

Some important updates regarding the show times and venues.

Had night cycling with william and ei hua last friday. tiring as hell... butt still hurts even as im typing now. haha will upload pics when william send em to me.

I have undertaken another mascot job. main character is TaoShu. but i play his sister Ling Ling. haha which means im a ger. hahaha i will have a total of 5 shows at 5 different venues on 2 separate days. there would be a photo taking session so any of u think that Ling Ling is cute and wanna take peeeekture wif her/me feel free to drop by.

Been sick for the past 2 days.. woke up on wednesday and had a sore thoat. no warning one... thursday was spent sleeping in bed for the whole day. woke up today feeling a little better. have to postpone my night cycling tonight le... unless ei hua and william wans me to die cycling halfway. nothing much to blog abt.. some updates regarding tomolo's show. the stage area is front of people's park complex. hopefully i will recover by tomolo in time for the mascot thingy. dun wana be a sick cai shen. yep..

New Year's Day

Woke up feeling the effects of late night sleeping.. mum cooked pasta... ate some.. actually was to nua at home again... (wads new?) alone coz audrey had to attend her cousin's ROM. but den again.. william and ei hua popped by in MSN and asked if i wanna meet them at 3.30pm. i only had an hour to prepare.. but i agreed. since time with ei hua was kinda hard to come by.

met them at orchard.(was late). i think i should name hua and will the walking buddies. basket they walk the whole of singapore one.! we WALKED from orchard to PS then supposedly to Funan. thats like 4 bloody mrt stops leh! but on the way to funan.. william saw the musuem and said its free! As typical singaporeans, we went in. (free wad!?) haha took lame pics inside. den on the way to take 16 down to the old airport road hawker to have a feast, we saw this group of middle eastern guys. they are so freaking funy. they walk in a single file. EVEN WHEN THEY CROSS THE ROAD. that was a real lol.after dinner, WALKED to geylang(wink wink william) to take bus back home. i shall post the pics.. enjoy!!

2008 has arrived. which means exams are drawing near.. im kinda afraid.. coz i haven been studying hard this sem.. thus my new year resolution is to start studying.! kelvin tng... u dun start studying now.. when results going to come out.. dun put 'I promise to be a good boy' in MSN again.

New Year 2008!

First and foremost. HAPPY NEW YEAR (pull your ear) GUYS AND GALS!!! may all your new year resolutions come true. hmmm... person controlling the resolutions is yourself anyway...
Thought this new year's eve was gonna be the same old thing again. thats is sleep at home. coz i dun really like crowds and audrey cant convince me to go out. hahaha! but one sms came from ei hua. 'wanna go countdown?' me and audrey were ready within 30 mins of that sms. hahaha. brought sheryl(little sister) along coz stephanie(2nd sister) is going to spend the night away with her frens, thus leaving her bored. (see im like so bloody nice.)
Wanted to watch National Treasure 2 at Marina Square but when i went online. they only had the 1st row empty. and since william and ei hua were at shaw towers at that time. we watched it there. The show was good! much better than the LAME 'I AM LEGEND'.
After movie we had our dinner at this cafe which serves pasta in shaw towers. set dinner cost $15.20 onlieh. no GST, no Svc tax. comes wif drink, main, dessert, soup.

We then headed to watch the fireworks. we deicided to go to the field next to NTUC Income building. walked all the way from shaw towers there. human traffic was a killer. set up my tripod to get ready to take photos of the fireworks. Will's Lumix is so much better than mine sia.. hai.. its ok.. i shall learn more from him, see if i really interested in photo taking den invest in one. alrightz here are the pics of the fireworks. i know some are not nice.. but just see see la... haha no harm right??

Audrey's Birthday!

actually had to work full day.. but decided to work only half a day.. went to bedok interchange to buy flowers(yes, dun rub your eyes, kelvin tng bought flowers). many people tell me the bedok 216 market flowers very cheap. but when i walked there market CLOSED for washing. wad the hell.. they take like 3-4 days to wash market. so i went to the florist opposite NTUC. and bought 3 daisies.. not very ex... not very cheap either.. but its ok la.. although us guys dun really understand why gers like flowers soooooooooooo much.. and guys who haven give flowers to their GFs. try it. hahaha their reaction will be priceless. =X yea.. den i went home to prepare for my genting trip which is on 7th dec 6.30am. (that will be the next post i hope). wrapped my present up. errr.. actually my mum thinks im hopeless in wrapping the box, she helped me wrap the whole box up.

both of us had difficulty deciding on where to eat.. but in the end we decided to eat at SAMBA. its at katong village. and serves buffet churrasco style. we arrived 20 mins b4 our reservation time but the kind staff gladly let us in. must really comment the uncle who served us. he was really very helpful, telling us how to control the speed of the meats with a 2 sided disc, explaining to us the different sauces etc. we had great fun and a great time eating delicious food. the beef had blood oozing out.. wooooo my fav! and they have their grilled bananas which was SUPER DUPER HEAVENLY.

after very fuller than usual dinner full of meat, we headed to TM to watch (say it in a very deep husky voice): THE GOLDEN COMPASS. hahahaha. yea. its was a SOLID show man! me and drey absolutely loveddddddddd it. but wth it has PART 2! gosh... have to wait again... dis was wad happened to narnia. look when part 2's coming out... tsk tsk tsk. and by the time part 2 comes. the little girl grow up already! den will have boobs! like harry potter's hermione. haha ok after dinner drove drey home and she finally opened her present. i think she likes it a lot! haha i shall post pictures either below.. or the next post.

I'm broke. and nobody understand me.

its another day of quarreling. i have just been told by my company that i would not be used at the end of this month. as of today my balance in the bank is a measly 157.98. im going to bangkok wif audrey and her mum and my sister. her mum paid the money 1st. super long ago. i pressed her to pay. she wouldnt budge. so i paid 1st. wad would her mum think of me next time. if i kept delaying the payments. so i paid my sister's share. i dun even noe wad im typing. im broke. thats the bottomline. she keeps asking me to work work work. she thinks its easy to find a job. which fucking company would wanna employ a student who can only work 2 days a week? its not easy. and she thinks im rich. he is not doing any help. talking so much crap everyday. i said it many times. not happy wif me just take a bloody knife and kill me. talk so much for wad? all talk and no action makes u look wimpy. seriouslieh. this place is driving me crazy. when was the last post abt these things? 2 months? it has been happening non stop for the past year. things arent looking very bright right now. someone tell me wad to do. i just screwed my weekend.

update.

i know many of you have been super impatient.. dat i did not update.. 1st thigns 1st. diet was a failure. i think im hovering around 99-100kg now.. i stopped when my mum came back from japan. the chocolates and biscuits.. i cant bear to give them a miss. and my mum spent 800 SGD MOSTLY on food. so u got it. i failed. haha

many things happened during this absence. an arson arsoned my common corridor. police and firemen came. and also some kid tried to steal from my corridor shoe cabinet. i called the police but while i was toking to the operator he ran away. DAMN IT. if only he let me catch again. i wallop him 1st for running away. punk.

gonna be quite a holidayious december for me. 1st going up to genting on the 7th and den to bangkok on the 14th. been 7 years since i been to bangkok and i think much has changed. during this period of absence. crude oil prices went up, cuasing petrol prices to soar like the bloody eagle. PUI. i remembered in 2006 how boon blogged abt the price hitting 70 per barrel. DUDE. its like close to a 100 per barrel now. even my dad who has always said that he wun go into malaysia to pump petrol has been doing that now when he goes into johore for golfing sessions.

US dollar going down.. spelling trouble for us. yawnz... last recession was the asian crisis in 1997. now is 2007. 10 year cycle sia. think we gonna plunge soon. better recover when im out finding a job. haha ok den.. i blogged! u people out there must be UBER hapy. at least my blog aint as dead as Audrey's one... =P

Day 2

Today is my 2nd day of dieting.. feeling fine. Duromine's magical effects are being felt again. dis time round.. effects aint that bad. i'm not feeling very thirsty as last time round. but i did get the insomnia part.. cant really sleep well last night.. or is it just me... hmmm i also think i got the easily irrtated side effect too.. damn.. its only the 2nd day.. target dis time round would be 80-85kg. thats a whooping 20kg. haha 2 bloody sacks of riceeeee. alright i shall achieve my target. already told audrey that my next buffet as a reward to myself would be when i hit 90kg. hahaha.

School is fine... haven really gotten into the momentum of studying.. last year i had couple of days where i would study in NUS wif audrey. dis year i have none. somemore wif the job. i keep giving myself excuses that im tired.. but den will be able to play Swat4 till 3am. am i mad or wad? must wake up my idea soon. FI is a toughie, especially wif a lousy lecturer.. half the time shes reading off slides. hai.. doesnt look good... hope the study guide would be comprehensive enuff for self study..

amazing.. 1 year just wooshed us by... remember a year ago it was ZOO DAY! followed by villa bali! yes! its been a year!!
we celebrated though i din plan much.. we had dinner at Cafe Biz @ traders hotel.. food was so-so.. kinda ex though. haha always have the guilty feeling after buffets.. since drey wasnt free.. she took leave on friday and we went to sentosa- quite long awaited since we said that we wanna try the luge thingy since like years ago. haha so friday we went to sentosa. hope ya like it my dear! haha. the next outing should be the tree top walk after steph and sheryl finish their exams. so i leave ya guys wif some pics from the 2 separate outings.
